Many Infusions or IV/Drips are relatively safe. However, as with any invasive procedure, emergencies do happen. Is there a licensed medical doctor (MD or DO) onsite? Many facilities contract with an offsite MD, at times even from a distant state. The contracted doctor signs off on your medical orders. That MD may never meet you or know your true medical needs.

Most RNs can start an IV.

However, knowing how to properly order, dose and time your Infusions is a medical decision, not a nursing one. It is critical to the safety and effectiveness of what you receive.

Beyond simple hydration or hangover drips, your medical health and history are critical for prescribing the correct infusions for you. Many sites offer elaborate looking “menus” with simple variations and prices of essentially similar infusions often based on the basic Myers Cocktail.

For patients with more serious issues, such as cancer, chronic Lyme disease, mold toxicity, fibromyalgia, Long Haul Covid and others, there is no one-size-fits-all treatment.

One patient may need a series of 50,000 mg of vitamin C. Another may require over 85,000 mg or 120,000 mg for the same medical issue. Others may also need IV ALA or unique oxygen therapies. How do you know?

Clue: for maximum results, ALA is not done before nor immediately after an IV vitamin C.

They recently began publishing very positive results for the use of very high dose IVC with chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer treatment?

A simple, inexpensive, blood test should ALWAYS be completed before any IV Vitamin C dose over 20,000 mg to assure your safety. Likewise kidney health and other medical issues should be reviewed before high dose IVs.

For your safety, Advanced Health and Vitality always tests for this enzyme before going over 20,000 mg of IV vitamin C.

Many IV/Drip facilities tend to only use lower doses of IV Vitamin C (IVCs). Some may attempt to use higher doses such as 50g or 75g. At very high doses IV Vitamin C becomes a pro-drug.

Advanced Health and Vitality periodically measures the level of Vitamin C in your blood to assure that your dose is correct just for you. Doses can range up to well over 100,000 mg per IV. The actual dose is determined by an individual’s own physiology.

The University of Iowa’s long-term studies have demonstrated that high dose IV Vitamin C is not only safe with the use of chemotherapy, but it may also actually improve the outcome for many patients.

However, there is one chemotherapy with which high dose IV Vitamin C should not be used.

A pressure cuff is a device that pushes the bag fluids into you faster. For safety, it was designed to ONLY be used before and after surgery or in ER or for IVs into arteries, not veins.

If you see one on your IV bag, it is most likely to speed up your IV/Drip for the convenience of the RN or facility NOT YOU. Be careful.

Advanced Health and Vitality nursing staff do not use pressure cuffs to speed up your IV for the nurse’s convenience.

Vitamin B9 (folate) is critical for making new cells, especially your red blood cells (RBCs). It may be used in the Myers cocktail or several variations of the Myers often listed on a spa like “menu” for such things as clarity, mood, skin, etc. But which vitamin B9 are you getting? “Real” vitamin B9 must be listed as “Folate.” A cheaper synthetic version is called “Folic Acid.” Folic acid is harder to metabolize and could collect in your blood. Ask to see the ingredients in your IV/Drip to be sure.

When required, Advanced Health and Vitality uses only true vitamin B 9, folate.

Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is an amazing molecule used to reduce your blood sugar, prevent and minimize peripheral neuropathy, chelate heavy metal, improve liver health and much more. The safest form of ALA is sourced from two countries.

Vitamin B-12 is known as cobalamin. This vitamin may be either in “Cyano” or Methyl” form. Cyano cannot be fully metabolized (utilized) by those people with MTHFR issues.

Natural vitamin B-12 is methyl-cobalamin. It can be absorbed by those with methylation issues. Simply ask what the actual ingredients of your IV/Drip.

Advanced Health and Vitality only uses Methyl-cobalamin in our infusions.

Vitamin C may come from different sources. Some lessor sources may be cheaper and could cause problems for those with allergies.
